I am writing to advise you that following a search of our paper and electronic records, I have established that the information you requested is not held by the NHS Business Services Authority.
This is because ambulance staff are not separately categorised under the NHSBSA’s records. Also when an Ambulance Trust forwards the pension application form to the NHSBSA the applicant’s actual profession is not always stated. Additionally, some staff take retirement from the NHS for a change of career before their normal pension age and will not claim their NHS pension until some years later.
