A copy of the information is attached. Only English Pharmacy accounts are included in the dataset, totals cover normal and abated (sent in later than the normal timescale) submissions. Based on dispensed prescription items that were processed by the NHSBSA, INCLUDING items not dispensed, disallowed and returned back. Excluding items prescribed but not presented for dispensing or not submitted to NHS Prescription Services by the dispenser. Data rows have not been shown for a pharmacy if both values (staff hours & items switched) were zero. The "Number of Staff Hours Declared" data was captured to enable the calculation of a "Practice Payment". This payment was discontinued from December 2016 onwards so from that point the data was no longer captured by the NHSBSA The "Number of Items switched from Exempt to Chargeable" column DOES NOT INCLUDE the data described below: All electronic prescriptions which are sent to us with a free-of-charge contraceptive exemption category are switched to chargeable (unless they are age exempt or have already been automatically switched to age exempt in a previous step). The NHSBSA keeps a record of free-of-charge contraceptive items which have a chargeable value of zero so no charges are deducted for them. This means that even though these forms are switched to chargeable, contraceptives on them are effectively treated as exempt. Any non-contraceptive items on an electronic form flagged with the free-of-charge contraceptive exemption category would become chargeable. No audit/record of this type of switching is kept.
