Request Reference: 8622 Request Date: 26 Jun 2019
Request: Please can you send me statistics on the effectiveness of issuing Penalty Charge Notices relating to NHS Prescriptions. Specifically I am interested in the number of PNC issued compared to the number paid. I assume that patients who fraudulently claim prescriptions would not then pay a PNC. Conversely honest members of society might pay a PNC because they have no proof that either they or their pharmacy made a mistake. [On 24 July 2019 you clarified the following:]It is hard for me to specify a date range requirement based on the start date of 17 September 2014; I do not want to specify a date range you cannot provide. If you record statistics month by month then please provide me with the most recent six months. If the data is only available on an annual basis then please provide the last two full 12 month periods.
