Request Reference: 8481 Request Date: 24 Apr 2019
Request: Dear NHS Business Services Authority, I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. I would like to know the number of antidepressant prescription items and the number of patients who have received antidepressants by gender for the financial years 2015/16, 2016/17, 2017/18. I would also like for the requested data to be split between “new” antidepressant users, meaning that they had not been prescribed such drugs in the previous year, and those who have been prescribed the drugs before. I would be interested in any information held by your organisation regarding my request. I understand that I do not have to specify particular files or documents and that it is the department’s responsibility to provide the information I require. If this request is too wide or unclear, I would be grateful if you could contact me via email or phone, as I understand that under Section 16 of the Act you are required to advise and assist requesters. If any of this information is already in the public domain, please can you direct me to it, with page references and URLs if necessary. I would like to receive the information electronically (preferably .CSV), but if that is not possibly I can receive hard copies or inspect the record. If my request is denied in whole or in part, I ask that you justify all deletions by reference to specific exemptions of the act. I will also expect you to release all non-exempt material. I reserve the right to appeal your decision to withhold any information or to charge excessive fees. I would be grateful if you could confirm in writing that you have received this request. I look forward to your response within 20 working days, as outlined by the statute. Regards,
