Request Reference: 8449 Request Date: 10 Apr 2019
Request: 1. Please provide the current number of days delay in processing NHS Pension 2018/19 pay award adjustments for staff who retired post the pay award. 2. What is the current number of backlog cases waiting over 90 days from receipt of AW171. 3. How many staff (WTE) are currently employed in dealing with backlog cases. Thankyou [On 30 April 2019 you clarified the following:]Where you ask for current number of days delay in processing NHS pension benefits following the ‘2018/19 pay award adjustments for staff’ can you confirm that you are referring to the ‘201819 AfC pay deal’? - I refer to all staff who received a pay award adjustment for 18/19, whether AfC or outside of AfC. If so, please confirm that you do not require information regarding NHS staff who were not subject to 2018/19 AfC pay deal? - See answer to next question. As NHS Pensions may not hold data regarding those staff who are subject to AfC terms and conditions would it be acceptable to provide data, if held, for staff employed by Trusts and Foundation Trusts? - If you provide information on all staff employed by Trusts and Foundation Trusts, that should include staff on both AfC and non AfC T&Cs. Where you ask for the number of ‘backlog cases awaiting over 90 days from receipt of AW171’ are you referring to NHS pension awards solely in respect of NHS staff on AfC terms and conditions? (As stated above we may not hold data on those NHS staff who are subject to AfC terms and conditions). - As above, data for all NHS Trust and Foundation Trust staff is acceptable. Where you ask for the number of WTE staff who are currently employed in dealing with backlog cases are you referring to staff solely employed by NHS Pensions? Yes, please include substantive and temporary/agency staff.
