Request Reference: 7727 Request Date: 04 Jun 2018
Request: The focus of my research method is more geographical (which is the currently identified knowledge gap) than clinical. In view of this, the data I will need will have to be at pseudo-patient level for effective spatial analysis using Geographic Information System tools. Being a Masters Degree research which will conclude in August / September 2018, I really have a very short time window for my analysis and final report. Kindly advise what I will need to do to facilitate my request within the shortest possible period. An overview of the type of data I would need is enumerated below: 1. Top 5 antibiotics by quantity consumed (2015, 2016, 2017) 2. Top 5 most frequently diagnosed pathogens in human (2015, 2016, 2017) 3. Top 5 resistant pathogens and what antimicrobials they are resistant to 4. Area (Location) of interst: Oxfordshire (and if possible, Gloucestershire) For spatial anaysis, patient (pseudo-patient ID) and Post-Code will be required. Even with pseudo-patent IDs, GIS tools will be used to spatially plot and analyse data with randomization techniques for data protection. [On 26 June 2018 you clarified the following:] Thank you for your response to my data request and for seeking further clarifications. Please find my resonse below: Q1. We only hold prescribing and dispensing data for prescriptions that have been dispensed within the community, this is from prescriptions which have been dispensed by a pharmacy and then submitted to us for pricing. Great! This is the data that matches my requirements (i.e. within the community), but also want the following data: o Post Code - (1.) Patients (2.) pharmacy / GP (PRECRIPTIONS AND POST CODE ONLY) - for the data to be GIS useful / friendly o But if you are unable to provide data that matches each Prescription to Postcode, I will have to make do with what you can provide (i.e. prescription based on Pharmacy / GP Post Codes) - BUT ON INDIVIDUAL PRESCRIPTION BASIS SO o THAT I CAN HAVE DISAGGREGATED DATA AT PHARMACY / GP LEVEL IF POSSIBLE (WITHOUT PERSONAL DETAILS). Q 2. We could provide data for the number of prescription items prescribed in Oxfordshire CCG (10Q00) and Gloucestershire CCG (11M00) in the requested time period Oxfordshire CCG (10Q00) only please - (2015, 2016, 2017) Q3. please can you confirm which BNF drug names and codes you are requesting the data for (e.g. BNF Section 0501 Antibacterial Drugs), and at what BNF level you require the data broken down by Please find the list of drugs and their BNF Codes below: 05-01-01-3 Co-amoxiclav 05-01-12-0 Ciprofloxacin 05-01-11-0 Metronidazole 05-01-02-1 Ceftriaxone 05-01-01-4 Piperacillin + Tazobactam 05-01-02-2 Meropenem 05-01-04-0 Gentamicin 05-01-13-0 Nitrofurantoin 05-01-02-1 Ceftazidime 05-01-08-0 Trimethoprim 05-01-12-0 Moxifloxacin 05-01-04-0 Tobramycin 05-01-04-0 Ertapenem 05-01-02-1 Cefotaxime Many thanks for your quick help on this.
